The Holdup

The Holdup formed in the fall of 2006 when Drummer Danny Flores and former Guitarist Tyler Scurti recruited Mike Garmany as Lead Vocalist. The Holdup quickly began writing music and performing local gigs around town. Later that year, they added a few new members to the group, Kyle Christensen on Bass, Nick Santana on Keys and Clev Stiles as Band Manager. The chemistry and fit were undeniable and The Holdup was complete.

The Holdup released their first EP in the spring of 2007, and instantly sold a thousand copies. The EP was a huge hit and got the attention of the local independent record label, Dub Rock Records. A few weeks later, The Holdup signed exclusively with Dub Rock and began recording their first full length album “Stay Gold”.

In March 2009 the long awaited album “Stay Gold” was finally released on Dub Rock, and debuted at an impressive number #44 on the Top 100 Reggae Albums on iTunes. The Album’s success on iTunes helped launch “Stay Gold” on to the iTunes “What’s Hot” List for 6 weeks and even made the top Reggae Albums on CD Baby.com. Since the release, the singles “Good Times” and “Wild Child” have been on rotation on multiple college stations and even landed the single “Good Times” as the Number #1 requested song on KSCU 103.3 FM and KDVS 90.3.

With hit songs, “Wildchild”, “Sometimes” and the ever growing popular hit, “Good Times”, The Holdup’s music is destined to be heard over airwaves and venues across the states. Combine a distinctive combination of music with ear catching melodic lyrics, and you get The Holdup: An energetic, hardworking group that defines a new unique style of Music.

Currently, The Holdup is touring the West Coast in support of “Stay Gold” and working diligently on their sophomore release, due out summer of 2010 on Dub Rock Records.

880 South Veteran Reggae Rockers 880 South just completed a Spring west coast tour starting in San Diego and ending in Seattle. This 10 date west coast tour gave 880 South the boost in record sales needed to take the next step to being a full-time regional act and well on their way to becoming a National. Every season you can catch 880 South bringin their trifecta blend of Reggae, Soul & Rock N' Roll. Established in 1998 as the Floppy Rods, this band's roots were planted in the heart of downtown Campbell, CA and their sound spread as far as San Jose, Santa Cruz & San Francisco in a short span of time. The year 2003 came around and the band re-emerged as 880 South a more passion driven implosion of funk, blues, reggae and rock in vein of artists such as Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, Steely Dan & Led Zeppelin. 880 South has shared the stage with the likes of the Long Beach Dub Allstars, Slightly Stoopid, Fishbone & long time friends the Expendables.

Their 2nd album "Youth Bus Sessions" was released on Dub Rock Records a Northern California based record label focused on the genre of reggae/rock music.
